We've posted on ChemRxiv our findings on the organocatalytic hydration of activated alkynes using cysteine as the catalyst. A revised version will shortly be posted, incorporating theoretical insights into this fascinating reaction. We believe this study represents a significant step towards the development of sustainable and cost-effective alternatives to current strategies in alkyne hydration. Thanks to all involved!
